Welcome to the “Sew It Gorgeous”!
Hello 🙂 My name is Lana and I am Russian Canadian.
I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia which is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
I am happy to have a full time job in a science filed which I balance with a creative hobby – sewing. I love sewing, as it is a form of art to me and gives a freedom of self-expression. Plus, I do enjoy having unique, tailored outfits for a fraction of designer clothes cost. For example, these dresses I made look gorgeous and cost less then 15 dollars each!
I am a fan of BurdaStyle magazine and I have been using their patterns for over 20 years. If you are in Canada, you can find this monthly magazine in any Chapters Store (it cost about CAD14 and has about 20 patterns) or get a single pattern on-line (it cost about CAD7). I usually buy about 5 issues a year and sew at least a couple of things a month.
Almost anyone can learn how to sew. If you can sew in a single straight line, you can make a simple skirt in less then 30 minutes. If you love fashion and have determination than you can do it. Yes you can. And you should!
I hope, this blog will inspire you to start or make more of your own clothes. Sewing is fun and rewarding, if it is done right.
Sew it gorgeous!
